Happy Birthday Mum

Hello Everyone. Today Is my mum's Birthday and I sat for rather a long time wondering what to get her.
I thought It would be a nice Idea to look for a poem and pop It In a nice frame to go along with some flowers and chocolates, but after looking for 5 mins, I decided to write one myself. I waited on my Wee Treasure to come home from school then we caught the teatime bus.

Mister Man arrived on his bike and my mum was really pleased to see us all and loved her gifts. Along with other family members, we all sang Happy Birthday and watched my mum blow out her candles. It Is hard to believe that she Is 76 today. If I look like her at that age, I will be doing cartwheels! lol. I have posted the poem I wrote and added one of her favourite songs along with It's lyrics at the end.

Take Care Back Soon. xx

Happy Birthday Mum

Impeccable manners an example to follow,
No smoking or drinking or tablets to swallow
Your voice very soft yet, your will very strong.
The list of your good points just goes on and on.

A lady who cares more than one person should.
Through good times and bad times, she will make you feel good.
Always a phonecall to check we're okay,
Its lovely to know she's not too far away.

The kitchen Is where you will find my mum.
When the front door Is closed, the cooking's begun.
Homemade Jam and some Fairy Cakes,
Sausage and Tomato Pie, she so easily makes.

An animal lover like you wouldn't believe.
For her favourite "The Gorilla",
she wears her heart on her sleeve.
Growing up with cats, dogs, chickens and goats,
Her favourite holiday, on the Cruise Liner Boats.

Remembering back to those very young years,
She would always be first to stop any tears.
Rocked back and forth with a gentle pat on the back,
Nothing else mattered, security intact.

Thank you mum for always being there.
For taking the time, to show that you care.
I've learn't very much, from all that you've done.
I love you so much.. My Friend... My Mum. xx

BENEATH THE LIGHTS OF HOME

Deanne Durbin - 1941

I can see the lights of home
Shining brightly o'er the foam;
Beckon to me while I roam
Away from lights of home.

I can see somebody there
loving eyes and silver hair
I can see her kneeling prayer
beneath the lights of home

In that little old sleepy town
Nothing happens when the sun goes down
not a thing but moonbeams run around
in a starry dome

Turn the hands of time for me
let me live my memory
once again I long to be
beneath the lights of home

In that little old sleepy town
nothing happens when the sun goes down
not a thing but moonbeams run around
in a starry dome

When the hands of time for me
let me live my memory
once again I long to be
beneath the lights of home.

A Little Lost

Hello Everyone, Apologies for not getting round to your journal's. To be honest, I've just not been able to, My get up and go has got up and gone. I am mentally exhausted. Totally stressed out. Saw the specialist at the hospital, no further forward really, need to see another one apparently. Just need to forget about it for the time being, take each day as It comes.

It would seem that quite a lot of people here In J-Land are having a really hard time too. Lisa, Jan, Lori, but to name a few, well, a wee note to say, I am thinking of you all. I will get round to see everyone just as soon as I can.

I have had a nice but rather long night tonight, helping out Stevie with his J-Land song. I eventually figured out what I was doing! lol and It really cheered me up, so Thanks stevie. I'm sure it will be brilliant when It's done. Right my lovely cherubs, I'm off to bed now. Nite nite, Sleep well everyone. Take Care, Back Soon. xx

My Eco-Warrior Daughter

Hello Everyone.

I have had a very relaxing weekend. Woke up this morning to see heavy snow falling! It has almost all gone now. The sun Is streaming through the window and is most welcome. I stopped by a journal belonging to Michael  and left a comment about my "wee treasure" writing a poem for a school project, in the form of a journalist writing in a paper, to encourage people to act upon Global Warming.  I was pleased that she was more than happy to share this with everyone. Her words: "We need to take action now and help out as much as we can."

I have to admit that she drives me daft switching off lights and nagging at both me and her dad to change our ways. I sometimes get plunged Into darkness then hear the voice saying "You don't need the light and the lamp on at the same time"! lol. I put my hand up, I was one of the many people who turned a blind eye and thought that one person can't change what's happened, but I know better now. We Can make a difference and, thanks to my clever girl for being so determined and strong willed, I do sit up and take notice. We started recycling a while back and when I'm shopping, I look out for recycled items.  It makes me feel pleased to be a small part In helping to halt the damage. I am so proud and privilledged to now leave you with this lovely poem.

Take Care, Back Soon. xx

It's not fake, It's real
what's happening around us,
so deep that we can't feel.
but that's not It,
It gets worse.
Not only will earth die,
but who lives on earth?
You and I.

But what If we done something,
like save ourselves?
but that's the point,
No-one can be bothered.
so I say let's make them be bothered,
and make them understand.
then earth can finally be,
best friends with man.
